What is Smart Timer
Smart Timer is an equipment less time measurement system. It allows overview of all measurements from different sports, including measurement history and benchmark, goal setting. The Mobile app uses measurement gate and does not require the use of special equipment. It allows you to track and compare performance, analyze the results and adjust the goals for coaches, teams and individuals.
The need
The sport clubs need a practical solution where the coaches can measure group of players, with minimum effort and instantly see analyzed result of the performance.
The solution
A unique fully automated measurement system without special equipment. The coach can measure large team of players with minimum effort and receive instant feedback of all teams and individual performance. And the players can set and achieve their goals. Exercise program suitable for all ages.
Smart timer makes the sport an online game.
Target market
The target group are sport organizations, coaches and players, children 10-16 years old, parents.
Business model
Saas with 3 revenue streams:
- Subscription for organization (B2B)
- Subscription for athletes / players / parents (B2C)
- Event management system / pay per event (B2B / B2C)
My Role
Led it from the very acquaintance with the stakeholders, to the final development and testing of the project.
I participated in all the processes of working on the project:
- validated stakeholder visions of opportunities within timeframes, budgets and technical constraints
- created a design system on the basis of which this project was made.
- formed the stages of work, the primary structure of the project and estimated it in terms of work hours.
- created paths to test the design system
- conducted user testing of the product
What is the Smart Timer?
Workflow
Our goal was to create the overall user experience, with a special focus on the subscription process that reflects the target audience and their needs.
Brainstorming the rough concept of the app and architecture
Low fidelity prototype
UI Kit & Design system
During development, I took great care to follow the design system. All interface elements have been entered into a style guide, and their behaviour has been described for developers.
Also I used what we call "atomic design". It made my design process much easier and more cohesive.
Professional App Version
(For coaches)
As a result of brainstorming and prototyping, we chose a number of interface solutions, for which I have already created the design system. The result is a UI concept.
Professional App Version
(For players)
The players get their result from events and try the exercise at home, compete with friends and improve performance.
Goals with subscriptions
In the app some categories are closed or require subscription to be able to use it. Then the subscriptions come up. Subscription prices and terms are clear and easy to understand. We highlighted how premium features will benefit young users by supporting their personal development and tracking their progress in a fun and engaging way.

I also showed a visual animation when the player progresses to the next level, so that the player feels an emotional reward
Ready to test!
Then I needed to test this new product. To do so, I had to update all wireframes and build a perfect hi-fidelity prototype :)
